I wrote this song after realizing I was constantly missing the past or worrying about the future-- and in doing that, I was letting the present slip away. 'Time Traveler' is a reminder to slow down and be in the moment before it becomes a memory you wish you could come back to.

LYRICS:

V1:

You’re on a race against the clock

Watching two hands that just dont stop

Drawin’ plans and talkin’ bout tomorrows

You’ll wish the now away

And then you’ll wake up one day and

See the one thing you can’t change or bend or borrow

Ch:

Life’s a one way road

So take it in and take it slow

Don’t you know right now is all that matters?

Every hour in glass is gold

Don’t come back once it goes

So while you’re getting to what you’re after

Take your time, traveler

V2:

Don’t plant the rose but leave too soon

To breathe it in, to see the bloom

No you don’t want to miss a stitch

In this one fabric that we get

Ch:

Life’s a one way road

So take it in and take it slow

Don’t you know right now is all that matters?

Every hour in glass is gold

Don’t come back once it goes

So while you’re getting to what you’re after

Take your time, traveler

Bridge:

What’s the need, what’s the hurry?

What’s the sweat, what’s the worry?

All in time, traveller

Chorus: Life’s a one way road

So take it in and take it slow

Don’t you know right now is all that matters?

Every hour in glass is gold

Don’t come back once it goes

So while you’re getting to what you’re after

Enjoy the ride

Take your time, traveler

BIO:

Born and raised in the heart of Virginia's countryside, Maddie was singing before she could talk, and writing songs before she could hold a pen. Her love for music only grew as she grew up, taking any opportunity to showcase her voice at every talent show she could find surrounding her small town. Upon graduating college in the Blue Ridge Mountains, she followed her heart to Music City and quickly accepted a job in the music business. After spending some time behind a desk, The Covid-19 pandemic gave Maddie the wake up call she needed to quit her job, and give 'Plan A' a real shot: writing and creating music. She hit the ground running, and for the first time felt on track for what she was made to do all along. She immersed herself in the songwriting community, pouring her heart into new songs everyday and sharing them all over venues in Nashville. After writing hundreds of songs and helping other artists tell their stories, she has recently begun to tell her own, releasing her debut single in September of 2023. As of September 2024, “Sober,” has accumulated nearly 400,000 completely organic streams. She has since headlined with her band at "The Basement," played at "The East Room," "Bowery Vault," as well as sold out Writer’s Rounds at Nashville's iconic Listening Room Cafe & Bluebird Cafe. Most recently, she played a sold out hometown show at The Barns at Wolftrap in Vienna, Virginia. She is currently in the process of releasing five new singles and working towards her goal of securing a publishing deal.  Maddie has been invited to perform at CMA Fest 2025.
